Does this make Telegram a good messenger? (If so, that would make WhatsApp even better.) I still think it’s suspicious that chats are not encrypted by default. (For this reason, I use Threema.)

I’m not a heavy user of Telegram, only tried it a couple of times. Strong encryption missing in WhatsApp is of course a shame. But it’s just very impressive how active Telegrams 60m users are.
